In an interview with Surrey Live, the doctor said that low-calorie soda with sugar substitutes showed itself well during the experiment. The subjects who drank it for a year, thanks to various measures, were able to lose three times more weight compared to the participants in the group that drank only water. The expert explained: soda lovers were satisfied with only the drink, while people who drank water could not resist eating many sweets, including those with more calories than lemonade.
People who drank only water experienced a strong craving for other sweet products, chocolate, cookies or doughnuts, Mughal noted.
The doctor added that strict prohibitions on unhealthy food often increase cravings for it. In his opinion, in order to avoid breakdowns with eating everything high in calories and sweet, you can sometimes drink soda. The doctor clarified that you should prefer drinks without sugar. He stated that there is no convincing evidence of the danger of sweeteners to health.
