Doctor Lebedeva: chewing food thoroughly helps avoid gastrointestinal cancer

Gastroenterologist Dilyara Lebedeva explained the importance of the habit of always chewing food thoroughly.

Doctor Lebedeva stated that chewing food thoroughly helps to avoid gastrointestinal cancer and called it a free way to improve the functioning of the digestive tract. The doctor said that when a person chews poorly and hastily swallows food, large dietary fibers enter the gastrointestinal tract, which he is not able to fully digest. As a result, the poorly digested mass “travels” along the tract, serving as food for potentially harmful bacteria.

“Large fibers are not digested in the stomach – hydrochloric acid only has time to “fry” the top layer. As a result, they enter the large intestine, where anaerobic bacteria also live,” Lebedeva said on Telegram.
The specialist warned that “fattened” anaerobic bacteria can provoke putrefactive processes in the intestines. This, in turn, can become a trigger for colorectal cancer.

The gastroenterologist emphasized that bowel cancer can be prevented by eating slowly enough to ensure that food is well chewed.

Another simple way to improve digestive function, suggested by the doctor, is to drink moderately hot water before meals.
“A glass of hot water, drunk on an empty stomach 15-20 minutes before meals, helps relax the sphincters of the gallbladder and pancreas,” explained the gastroenterologist.
The MedikForum.ru portal previously wrote that doctors advise caution use artificial fructose as a sweetener.
