Endocrinologist Maria Kaloshina said that eating black bread helps reduce the risk of developing atherosclerosis.

Including black bread in the diet can reduce inflammation and the risk of atherosclerosis, doctor Kaloshina reported in an interview with RIA Novosti. According to the endocrinologist, this effect is provided by the unsaturated fatty acids contained in black bread. The doctor drew attention to the fact that the grain of dark flour is more oily and less processed compared to what is used to bake white bread. Maria Kaloshina noted that black bread contains significantly more healthy fats, which are unsaturated and have high nutritional value for the body.

In addition, black bread, made from less processed grain, contains more fiber, vitamins (for example, B vitamins), microelements such as iron, magnesium, zinc. Such bread is digested more slowly due to the higher fiber content, which makes it useful for maintaining a healthy weight and preventing overeating. According to Kaloshina, rye flour, from which high-quality black bread is made, contains dietary fiber, almost twice the volume of that contained in white premium wheat flour.

“Dietary fiber helps to feel full, stays in the intestines longer, helps to form beneficial microflora, removes excess fat, and inhibits the absorption of sugar,” the specialist shared.
Thanks to these properties, black bread improves the protection of blood vessels from atherosclerosis, a disease in which plaques and fatty deposits of cholesterol appear in them.

Disadvantages of black bread. Not all such bread is automatically healthy. Some varieties may contain added sugar, preservatives, or other potentially harmful ingredients that reduce the nutritional value of the product. When buying black bread, it is important to pay attention to the list of its ingredients.
