Gastroenterologist Svetlana Ilyashenko explained for which health problems you need to eat as little white bread as possible.

Doctor Ilyashenko told RIA Novosti in a commentary that gastrointestinal diseases require adherence to a diet in which this product is minimized or excluded altogether. In particular, you need to limit yourself in white bread if you are prone to constipation.

“People prone to constipation and those with gastrointestinal diseases should be more careful with white bread, as its consumption leads to an exacerbation of unpleasant symptoms,” the gastroenterologist clarified.
When else might bread made from white wheat flour be contraindicated?

Svetlana Ilyashenko explained that people with such problems as diabetes and obesity should limit their consumption. The doctor emphasized that this product is a rich source of fast carbohydrates and has a fairly high glycemic index. These characteristics indicate that after eating white bread, the blood sugar level will increase significantly in a short time. With existing obesity or diabetes, this is dangerous, since the body is not able to normalize blood sugar levels due to specific disorders.

In addition, people with celiac disease should limit themselves in white bread – a disorder in which the body develops intolerance to gluten, a protein in cereal plants. Wheat products usually contain a lot of gluten.
