Doctor Arzamastsev: nuts give people over 60 the necessary magnesium and B vitamins

Dietitian Evgeny Arzamastsev told why it is useful for people over 60 to eat a variety of nuts.

Speaking about the positive impact of nuts on the health of people over 60 years, doctor Arzamastsev noted: this product is a source of substances needed in old age. “Nuts contain a large amount of magnesium and B vitamins – these are the elements that are most needed people over 60 years old. Magnesium and B vitamins strengthen the nervous system, as well as facilitate and improve heart function,” Arzamastsev shared with Moscow 24.

Nuts are also a source of vitamin E and silicon, which have a positive effect on skin, hair and nails, improving their condition. In addition, their consumption is the prevention of poorly healing wounds, ulcers.

“Nuts contain chromium, which very well reduces cravings for sweets in overweight older people with impaired carbohydrate metabolism,” the specialist added.
