According to endocrinologist-nutritionist Daria Abakhina, the basis of a diet that can be considered healthy is made up of five food groups.

Doctor Abakhina said in an interview with RIA Novosti what foods should be eaten if a person intends to adhere to a healthy diet. The specialist pointed to five main groups of products.

“A healthy diet must include vegetables, protein and dairy products,” the nutritionist noted in passing.
Vegetables from these products are included in the first group. In addition, it consists of greens, fruits and berries – in short, plant foods rich in vitamins and fiber.

Doctor Abakhina also pointed out the need to consume starchy foods, which form a separate group of a healthy diet. The specialist advises eating small amounts of pasta, cereals, bread, potatoes – such products provide the body with carbohydrates for energy and performance, as well as B vitamins.

Another important group is protein products. The doctor stated that they are part of the basic diet.

“It is extremely important that the diet contains protein products: chicken, fish, seafood, meat, eggs, which contain zinc and B vitamins. Sources of vegetable protein are also needed “.
Additionally, Daria Abakhina noted that certain categories of products that should be present in a healthy diet are dairy (fermented milk) products and healthy fats. The former provide the body with calcium, the latter with anti-inflammatory fatty acids.

The consumption of foods such as saturated fat, salt and sugar should be strictly controlled, the expert emphasized.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that avoiding certain foods helps maintain beauty and health.
