Nutritionist Elena Solomatina told Russians about products that help the body adapt to the cold season.

The reduction in daylight hours, cold weather and raging infections become a serious test for health in the fall and winter. Doctor Solomatina noted that a properly organized diet helps the human body prepare for the fall-winter season. In particular, the doctor advised including cod liver in it – a superfood rich in vitamins D and A, amino acids, and omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for immunity. These nutrients improve the protection of cells from the penetration of viruses, the doctor told Moscow 24.

“Cod liver and fatty fish in general are superfoods that can and should be included in the diet at least once or twice a week,” the expert advised.
In addition, the doctor called fermented milk products and products rich in protein, both plant and animal, useful for strengthening the immune system in anticipation of the cold weather. Thus, kefir, fermented baked milk, cottage cheese, cheese, chicken, turkey, eggs, fish, legumes (chickpeas, beans, peas) should be present in the daily diet.

In addition, Solomatina recommended replenishing vitamin C in the body – this can be done by eating sauerkraut, black currants, bell peppers, citrus fruits, and rose hips.

The nutritionist also named lard among the best products for preparing the body for winter.

“In the fall, you can eat a small piece of lard: it contains arachidonic acid, which will also be useful for strengthening the immune system,” the expert stated.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about why overweight people should stop eating soups.
