Endocrinologist Elena Gubkina told what products make up the most unhealthy breakfasts.

Doctor Gubkina reported: many important health indicators depend on how healthy breakfast is. In particular, how a person eats breakfast affects the likelihood of developing diabetes, the state of the cardiovascular system, metabolism and weight. To avoid problems, you need to eat only healthy food in the morning, excluding everything harmful. Doctor Gubkina shared which products are the most harmful for breakfast.

The doctor noted that the first meal of the day should not consist of chocolate balls, cornflakes, or pillows – the abundance of sugar and artificial additives in them has an extremely adverse effect on the pancreas and provokes insulin release, which causes fat to increase.

Any sweet products, including baked goods and other dough products, are also harmful for breakfast.

“Croissants, donuts, buns and other sweets also contain a lot of sugar and fat, which can cause the development of insulin resistance and increase the risk of diabetes,” Gubkina warned in a conversation with aif.ru.
In addition, the doctor included bacon and sausages in the list of the most harmful ones as they are very difficult to digest and worsen the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract. The endocrinologist also advised not to drink freshly squeezed juices in the morning, especially on an empty stomach – such drinks only provoke unwanted jumps in blood sugar levels.

Speaking about what you should eat for breakfast, Gubkina listed:

“Whole grain cereals, nuts, fruits, berries, green tea, cottage cheese, omelet, boiled or stewed chicken breast, fish.”
