Nutritionist Dmitry Semiryadov: these products contain substances that potentially reduce cancer risks.

Researchers from the United States analyzed an array of data on cancer diseases, including information on almost 1 million 800 thousand patients over 30 years old. Scientists have concluded that almost 40% of cancer cases and 44% of deaths from it can be prevented by changing lifestyle, kp.ru reported.

One of such changes that effectively ensures cancer prevention is the correction of the daily diet, which also involves the consumption of healthy and useful products. Discussing how effective such proper nutrition can be in terms of protection against cancer, nutritionist Dmitry Semiryadov said the following:

“No change in diet, no dish or product can 100% prevent or even cure cancer. However, there are substances on our table that can potentially help reduce oncological risks.”
Semiryadov clarified that cancer is largely a consequence of a breakdown in cellular DNA, which causes a mutation and its consequence in the form of abnormal proliferation of defective cells and their accumulation (tumors). Some products contain antioxidants – substances that protect DNA from damage. Due to this, the risk of such cellular abnormalities that lead to the formation of tumors is reduced.

A nutritionist has named affordable products that reduce the risk of cancer and are particularly high in antioxidants.
Here is a list of them:

  • Broccoli;
  • Carrots;
  • Beans;
  • Berries;
  • Nuts;
  • Olive oil;
  • Turmeric;
  • Citrus fruits;
  • Garlic;
  • Fatty fish.

Green tea is a particularly useful drink for preventing cancer.
