Cardiologist German Gandelman: drinking cold cucumber soup helps lower blood pressure.

Cardiologist Gandelman spoke on the set of the program “Live Healthy!” about the benefits of a popular summer dish – cucumber soup – for normalizing blood pressure.

“Cold cucumber soup can lower blood pressure,” the doctor said.
According to Herman Gandelman, the hypotensive effect of the dish is associated with the action of its ingredients – cucumbers and garlic. Cucumbers are a rich source of potassium, which activates the removal of sodium from the body, which contributes to fluid retention, the occurrence of edema and increased pressure in the blood vessels. In addition, this summer soup contains garlic, a source of allicin, which stimulates the body to produce nitric oxide, which dilates blood vessels (which reduces blood pressure on their walls).

“When we consume at least four grams of garlic a day, our blood pressure decreases, this has been shown by studies,” the cardiologist summed up.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about why it is useful to drink kefir in hot summer weather.
