Doctors Elena Malysheva and German Gandelman spoke about the positive changes in the body that occur when you give up sugar.

Doctors Malysheva and Gandelman advised Russians to try, at least as an experiment, to live for several days without excluding sugar from their diet. Cardiologist German Gandelman noted that scientists have already conducted similar experiments – in particular, in one study, participants did not eat sugar for 9 days.

“Look what happens after 9 days of giving up sugar: blood pressure decreases, sugar levels naturally decrease, weight decreases by one kilogram,” the cardiologist shared.
He also specified that the subjects did not consume only added sugar, while berries and fruits were present in their diet.
Elena Malysheva, in turn, answered what changes can occur in the body with a longer period of giving up sugar.

“Giving up sugar for 6 months leads to a weight loss of seven kilograms, a six-centimeter waistline, improved memory, and a 10-millimeter-Hg reduction in blood pressure.”
Doctors emphasized that an important bonus of such a diet, from which added sugar is excluded, is a reduced risk of cardiovascular diseases – their likelihood decreases by 17 percent.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that properly selected fats improve blood vessels and slow down aging.
