A glass of water before meals: Doctor Sabirova named ways to reduce cravings for sweets

craving for sweets
Endocrinologist Rizida Sabirova: if the craving for sweets gets too intense, it is better to snack on fruit than on a commercial dessert.

Doctor Sabirova named several ways to reduce cravings for sweets. In particular, the endocrinologist advised people who constantly want to eat something sweet after the main meal to slowly drink a glass of water before eating. This method not only maintains the water balance in the body, but also allows you to quickly feel full during meals, in which the craving for sweet taste weakens and is much better controlled.

Snacking on fruit can also help curb cravings for sweets, which encourages you to consume processed foods (such as candy and baked goods containing trans fats). According to Sabirova, one or two fruits eaten during the day not only allow you to experience the desired sweet taste, but also provide the body with vitamins, microelements, and fiber.

The specialist drew attention to the fact that a diet that provides the body with a wide range of useful substances, vitamins and minerals, in general, allows you not to feel a strong need for sweets. Such cravings often arise in conditions of irrational nutrition and are a signal that the body does not receive the necessary nutrients. To receive them, the weekly diet should contain enough meat, fish, eggs, dairy products, vegetables and fruits, the expert emphasized. The doctor also advised thinking through the menu for each day in advance.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about why it is harmful not to look at food while eating, doctor Nuria Dianova spoke about this in more detail.
