Vitamin D supplements 'should be taken in the morning' - doctor Andreeva explains why

Autumn is the time when people start taking vitamin D supplements, but it's not just about the time of year when they are taken, but also at the time of day.

From September to April, doctors recommend taking vitamin D supplements. The reason for this is that our bodies cannot get as many vitamins from the sun in winter, how much in summer. MedicForum talked to GP Irina Andreeva about supplements and how best to take them.

The first thing to note is that it's not just about the time of year, it's also about the time of day when it comes to vitamin D supplements.

Whether vitamin supplements are needed in winter: Dr. Abde says what to take

“Supplements should be taken in the morning. If we get vitamin D naturally from the sun, we synthesize it during the day, so it's best to take it in the morning,” Andreeva says specifically for MedikForum.
It's about reproducing the vitamin D schedule of the internal system.

Shock: Vitamin supplements are either dangerous or useless

“The main source of vitamin D is the sun. Vitamin D deficiency has been linked to lack of energy and fatigue, so it's only natural that getting your daily dose through natural sun exposure will boost your energy levels. In winter, sunlight does not contain enough UV radiation for our skin to produce enough vitamin D, so we need to get it from dietary sources.”
Sources high in vitamin D include salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines, red meat, egg yolks, liver and fortified foods.
