Trichologist Oleg Spiridonov in an exclusive interview with MedikForum told what dietary preferences affect hair growth and hair loss.If you lack certain nutrients, hair loss may occur. One of the “most common” deficiencies to be aware of is vitamin B12. Other three dietary deficiencies to look out for include: biotin, folic acid, and iron.

“Iron deficiency in premenopausal women is one of the main causes of hair loss, which may indicate an underlying medical condition. Iron contributes to the production of hemoglobin, which helps deliver nutrients and oxygen to the hair follicles. Without enough hair will stop growing and lead to thinning,” says trichologist Oleg Spiridonov especially for Medikforum.

“Vitamin B12 deficiency can occur if you have pernicious anemia, where your body cannot absorb B12 through the foods you eat. Biotin is also known as vitamin B7 and vitamin H. It is needed to help your body convert carbohydrates into energy,” the doctor explains.
