“This is due to a reduction in inflammation”: Doctor Pavlova said that omega-3 eliminates aggression

Endocrinologist Zukhra Pavlova: taking omega-3 in the form of fish oil supplements makes both adults and children less aggressive.

Doctor Pavlova said that scientists from the University of Pennsylvania conducted a meta-analysis of 29 studies in which participants took fish oil, a source of polyunsaturated omega-3 fatty acids. Scientists concluded that taking such supplements helps to significantly (by 28 percent) reduce the level of aggression. At the same time, the manifestation of all types of aggression is reduced, including pre-planned and reactive (arising in response to an irritant).

Doctor Pavlova said that such an effect is associated with a decrease in inflammation caused by the action of omega-3.

“Omega-3 reduces overall inflammation in the body, supporting vital processes in the brain, ensuring their smooth operation. And this, in turn, contributes to better behavior control,” the doctor reported on her Telegram channel.
Pavlova added that the recommended dose of omega-3 is 300 mg per day. In particular, doctors consider this amount to be a good preventative measure against cardiac and vascular pathologies and dementia. The doctor noted that omega-3 is not produced by the body, and it is difficult to obtain the required amount from food. According to the specialist, taking the substance as a supplement is useful for almost everyone.
