Thin people seem happier to children

Thin people seem happier to children
Children, even at the age of 5, already find thin people happier and more attractive than those who are overweight. This conclusion was made by scientists from the University of Gdansk in Poland.

The youngest children perceive thin people as happier and more attractive than those who are overweight. The authors of the study showed boys and girls of preschool age images of men and women with different body types. The children were asked to rate which of them was the most attractive and happiest.

Psychologists have found out what people call happy days

The results showed that children equally evaluate male and female bodies. Fat, overweight figures were perceived as the least attractive and the most unhappy. Preschoolers are already able to identify physically attractive people according to the prevailing views in society, and this can form the basis for their future concept of happiness associated with beauty.

Scientists said that overweight people like people more

Scientists believe this is due to the standards of the ideal body that are promoted by the media. For women, this is a slender body, and for men, it is muscular. These standards are assimilated by both sexes already in early childhood, turning into a concept of a broadly understood happiness. And children of average or athletic build are perceived by their peers as happier, kinder, and stronger, while chubby children are seen as clumsy, lazy, stupid, and prone to cheating.
