high cholesterol
Therapist Tatyana Romanenko listed the factors that provoke the active development of atherosclerosis.

Atherosclerosis is a chronic lesion of the blood vessels, in which excess cholesterol is deposited in the cavity of the vessels, forming plaques. As a result, there is a narrowing of the internal space of the vessels, leading to a decrease in blood flow to the internal organs – this contributes to the development of dangerous disorders in their functioning.

Romanenko said in an interview with Moscow 24 that the development of atherosclerosis is closely related to how a person eats.

“Red meat, foods high in fat, the predominance of easily digestible carbohydrates – all this worsens the manifestation of atherosclerosis,” the doctor warned.
The doctor stated that in order to maintain the health of blood vessels, one should strive for nutrition in the likeness of the Mediterranean diet. The menu should be dominated by unprocessed natural products with a minimum of red meat and sweets, with plenty of vegetables and herbs, seafood and fish, vegetable oils.

In addition, smoking leads to the onset and progression of atherosclerosis. Under the influence of the components of tobacco smoke, blood vessels become inflamed, which makes their tissue especially vulnerable and prone to cholesterol plaque.

Therapist Romanenko named the reasons causing fluctuations in blood sugar

Romanenko added that the refusal of doctor-prescribed statins also contributes to the fact that the resulting atherosclerosis begins to worsen, causing more and more significant vascular damage.

Therapist Romanenko called signs of high blood sugar and possible diabetes blood pressure, high glucose levels – all this also leads to the progression of atherosclerosis, ”the therapist concluded.
