Therapist Babak Ashrafi warned that sudden weight loss can seriously damage one's appearance – such weight loss negatively affects the condition of hair and skin.
< br>Therapist Ashrafi spoke to the Daily Mirror about the negative effects of sudden weight loss, which many people overlook when trying to lose weight. The doctor warned that people who achieve significant weight loss in various ways may have deteriorated skin.

Dramatic weight loss can cause accelerated skin aging, the therapist noted:

“An unpleasant consequence of getting rid of extra pounds can be excessive dryness and aging of the skin. This may be due to changes in hormone levels, which reduce sebum production,” explained Ashrafi.
To combat dry skin, the specialist advised drinking enough water and eating unsaturated fatty acids.

The therapist drew attention to the fact that sudden weight loss can lead to unexpected and unpleasant skin rashes and numerous pimples.

“When losing weight and due to fat loss, the production of sebum may increase to compensate the skin for its lack. As a result, it clogs the pores and provokes the appearance of acne and rashes,” Ashrafi said.
Another consequence of sudden weight loss is intense hair loss. Weight loss is usually associated with dietary restrictions, and deterioration of hair is a reaction to lack of nutrients. In addition, when seriously losing weight, the body experiences stress, which also negatively affects the hair.
