Preeclampsia in pregnancy linked to dementia

Pre-eclampsia in pregnant women linked to dementia
A common complication among expectant mothers associated with high blood pressure is a risk factor for dementia. This is the conclusion of three studies on this topic at once.

Preeclampsia increases a woman's risk of later developing dementia, three studies have shown, one of which was conducted by scientists from the University of Utah. The authors of the study found that women suffering from preeclampsia are more likely to encounter toxic accumulations of proteins in their blood, which are harbingers of Alzheimer's disease. Preeclampsia is high blood pressure during pregnancy. Another study showed that it increased the risk of vascular dementia by 64%.

Pre-eclampsia increases a woman's risk of heart failure by several times

And scientists from the Netherlands suggested that expectant mothers faced with hypertension are 38% more likely to experience wear and tear of brain tissue. Pre-eclampsia is very common, affecting millions of women, including celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé. According to statistics, high blood pressure is observed in 5% of all pregnancies.
