Phlebologist Kudinova named swelling of one leg among the signs of thrombosis

pain in the legs
Phlebologist surgeon Elizaveta Kudinova told what signs thrombosis can be determined by.

Thrombosis, in which blood clots (thrombi) form, is one of the pathologies that often worsen in the fall. Doctor Elizaveta Kudinova advised Russians to be aware of how this potentially life-threatening disorder can manifest itself.

“Thrombosis is the attachment of a blood clot to the wall of a vein. It is dangerous because it can come off, fly into the lungs, close the lumen of the artery and the patient begins to experience oxygen deficiency,” the doctor said in a comment to the St. Petersburg TV channel.
Speaking about possible symptoms of a blood clot, phlebologist Kudinova identified three key ones:

  • Swelling of one leg.
  • Muscle pain (both mild and severe), which intensifies while walking or standing.
  • Redness of the skin (hyperemia) that occurs in the area with a blood clot or on the face or mucous membranes.

The specialist noted that if two out of three symptoms are observed, you need to promptly seek medical help.

For prevention of thrombosis, the phlebologist recommended giving up smoking, drinking enough clean water, maintaining the required level of physical activity, controlling the consumption of sugar, fatty foods and alcohol.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that it is useful for hypertensive patients to eat aronia rowan.
