Phlebologist-surgeon Armen Avakyan: one of the causes of swelling of the hands is heart failure.

Phlebologist Avakyan touched upon the topic of swelling of the hands in the summer in an interview and said, that one of the common factors of this condition is the lack of water consumed during the day.

“If a person does not drink enough liquid in the summer, then the body can begin to retain water, and this leads to edema,” the specialist explained, talking to AiF.
Armen Avakyan added that prolonged exposure to heat has a particularly strong effect on susceptibility to edema in summer, as when exposed to heat, vasodilation occurs so that blood flow increases to ensure cooling of the body. Such a change can cause fluid retention in the tissues.
