She warned that some symptoms will appear when going to the toilet.
These include:
- Changes in your stool – this could be diarrhea, constipation, or softer stools
- Experiencing more frequent bowel movements
- Blood in your stool
- Bleeding from your bottom.

“These include finding blood in the stool, changes in bowel habits, unexplained weight loss, and abdominal pain. If you experience any of these symptoms, it's important to see your GP urgently for further evaluation.”

Most often, blood in the stool is from hemorrhoids, especially if it is bright red, fresh blood.
