Urologist Daria Firsova warned about the dangers of nephritic syndrome.

Doctor Firsova explained the appearance of symmetrical swelling on the face by nephritic syndrome – a pathological condition that develops due to kidney problems.

“Symmetrical swelling, which is more pronounced on the face than in other areas, may indicate nephritic syndrome, which develops due to inflammatory diseases of the kidneys,” the doctor told Gazeta.Ru.
Firsova added that when this syndrome occurs, a person's blood pressure becomes high, the amount of urine excreted decreases, and small edemas appear. The doctor emphasized that nephritic syndrome often appears as a sign of glomerulonephritis – an inflammatory process in the kidneys. The urologist also drew attention to the fact that such inflammation in many cases occurs due to an excessive immune response of the body to toxins or infectious agents penetrating it.

In addition, swelling of the face can be explained by other problems, the doctor noted. These can include urolithiasis, bladder cancer, pyelonephritis – that is why in case of swelling you should consult a urologist, and not self-medicate, the specialist stated.

“Swelling is not just a cosmetic defect. Often they indicate serious health problems. If there are problems with the outflow of urine from the kidneys, a urologist can help eliminate them. If there are no “urological” reasons, you should consult a cardiologist, therapist, nephrologist,” the doctor advised.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that sudden joint pain can occur due to liver disease.
