Therapist Lyudmila Lapa: some products from the category “grandmother's remedies” can really be useful for treating ARVI.

With the onset of cold season, it makes sense to drink tea with lemon or tea with ginger and lemon – the vitamin C contained in it provides good support for the immune system. Doctor Lapa spoke about this in a conversation with Newsinfo, and at the same time recommended other products to combat ARVI.

“When using sources of vitamin C, it is important to remember that its excessive consumption can cause intoxication and negative reactions in the body,” the expert warned.
The doctor also included milk and honey in the list of fighters against respiratory infections. According to the doctor, their consumption (in the absence of intolerance) helps to activate the immune system, stimulates the production of anti-inflammatory proteins.

Raspberry jam also received a positive assessment from the doctor. In particular, it is useful to take it at a temperature.

“If the temperature starts to rise, there is no need to panic right away. When we lower the temperature too quickly, the body does not have time to adapt and destroy the infection. But when the temperature reaches 38.5-39 degrees, it is important to support the body and bring down the fever, especially in people with chronic illnesses,” Lyudmila Lapa clarified.
In addition to those already mentioned, the therapist considers salt foot baths to be a good folk remedy. According to the specialist, they are useful to take when a person gets his feet wet, has a cold, or when his nose is stuffy. Another suitable folk remedy for colds is compresses.
