Doctor Irina Yuzup: beer is the most insidious alcoholic drink in relation to health.

Beer is the most popular alcoholic drink among Russians. Doctor Yuzup noted that many people perceive it as “light”, are not afraid to drink it often and in large quantities. Such an attitude towards beer is a serious mistake, the doctor emphasized.

In a conversation with Lenta.ru, doctor Yuzup warned about the consequences of an addiction to beer. The specialist noted that it contains a significant concentration of sugar, which is quickly absorbed by the body and provokes the accumulation of fatty tissue.

“Excessive consumption of beer leads to obesity, diabetes and other metabolic disorders,” said Irina Yuzup.
The doctor also drew attention to the fact that beer is a rich source of yeast. According to the doctor, brewer's yeast is essentially a fungus that can cause allergic reactions. In addition, it is difficult for the body to digest it – that is why after beer many people experience bloating, flatulence, and other symptoms of a malfunctioning digestive tract.

Another component of the foamy drink – hops – contains substances that affect hormonal balance. Men who love beer risk suffering from decreased testosterone levels, erectile dysfunction, and infertility. Women can also face hormonal imbalances – for example, with disruptions in the menstrual cycle, the expert warned.

The most dangerous consequence of addiction to beer can be the development of diseases that can prematurely end a person's life, said Yuzup.

“Beer, like any other alcoholic beverage, causes addiction, which can destroy the body, leading to cirrhosis of the liver, pancreatitis, cardiovascular diseases, mental disorders and even oncology.”
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that the doctor Georgy Vikulov named the most harmful alcoholic beverages for health.
