Psychologist Karina Grigorieva spoke about behavioral changes that indicate the possible development of alcoholism.

Doctor Grigorieva reported that the onset of alcoholism manifests itself in symptoms that easily escape the attention of most people surrounding a drinking person. Such symptoms include changes in the psychological world of such a person, a transformation of his personality. It is important for loved ones to be able to recognize these early signs and sound the alarm before it is too late, the expert emphasized.

In an interview with UfaTime.ru, Grigorieva named 5 early signs of alcoholism.

First. Alcohol consumption becomes not an exceptional or special event for a person, but the norm – for example, alcohol is consumed during meals or in the evenings.

Second. The frequency and amount of alcohol consumed increases – a sign that tolerance (addiction) is forming in the body. The gag reflex as a reaction to alcohol is dulled, and promises to limit the amount of drinking are not fulfilled.

Third. A person's social behavior changes – he gravitates toward spending time in drinking companies, looks for events with drinking, becomes informed about the range of alcoholic products and prices for them at different points.

Fourth. Alcohol is used as an antidepressant, without it the emotional state worsens.

“A person intuitively looks for a “cure for reality” and his “glutamate of happiness,” Grigorieva said about this.
Fifth. Various kinds of “drunk adventures” are increasingly occurring – inadequate or risky behavior, loss of things, casual acquaintances.

“Early symptoms of alcoholism may not be obvious, but it is important to recognize them in order to prevent further development of addiction. Do not forget, taking action at an early stage can prevent a tragedy,” the psychologist stated.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about the amount of wine per week that indicates domestic drunkenness.
