Flatulence: what can gases say about health?

flatulence
Doctors say it's good to pass gas during the day.

Gases and air are naturally absorbed by the body, accumulate in the gastrointestinal tract, and then leave it in the form of flatulence or belching. Farting during the day is useful – holding back gas can lead to at least unpleasant and painful bloating. In turn, their release helps you feel better and may even warn you of some potentially serious diseases.

What can gases say about health?

The smell is very bad. Hormonal changes often appear as such a symptom. In particular, when certain hormones rise, it can cause contractions in the digestive tract and bacterial remodeling that affects the smell of flatus.

No odor. Such flatus usually indicates swallowing air. It can occur when a person eats too quickly, talks while eating, or drinks a lot of carbonated drinks, constantly chews chewing gum.

With a burning sensation. When eating spicy food from its burning components, it first begins to burn in the mouth, and later in the rectal region. A similar sensation is associated with the work of the body's receptors that recognize capsaicin (a compound found in peppers). The consequence of a spicy dinner can be not only gases, but also diarrhea, accompanied by a burning sensation.

With profuse gas formation. Some high-fiber foods are rich in inulin, which is also a prebiotic that feeds healthy bacteria in the gut. Their use leads to a particularly intense accumulation of gases and repeated discharge during the day.

With abdominal pain. Often, gases that are accompanied by discomfort and severe pain in the abdomen indicate that a person has an intolerance to certain foods. In many cases, this is an intolerance to dairy products or those containing gluten.

Bloating and flatulence may indicate a mental disorder

With constipation and cramps. According to the Lancet magazine, a healthy body should consume 25-29 grams of dietary fiber (fiber) daily. Eating less or more can cause gas, bloating, cramps, and constipation. When we eat too little fiber, peristalsis weakens and the movement of masses through the intestines slows down. If we eat a lot, it swells and hardens in the stool, which also makes it difficult for the intestines to work, the Times of India informed about this.
