Dr. Myasnikov: Frequent Urination May Indicate a Rare Type of Diabetes

Doctor Alexander Myasnikov warned Russians: frequent urination can occur with the development of diabetes insipidus.

Doctor Myasnikov said on the set of the program “About the Most Important Thing” that frequent urge to urinate (along with constant thirst) can indicate a rare type of diabetes – diabetes insipidus.

“It is possible that you have a problem with the pituitary gland, with diabetes insipidus (…). Many people experience this,” said the famous doctor, discussing the causes of the above symptoms.
What is diabetes insipidus?This is an endocrine disease in which there is a violation of osmotic regulation (water retention in the body). Such a violation is caused by failures in the processes of formation or secretion of the antidiuretic hormone, vasopressin, or renal tissue insensitivity to it. The disease most often occurs in people 20 – 30 years old, but can develop at any age. With diabetes insipidus, a person can excrete up to 6-8 liters of urine per day.

Symptoms of diabetes insipidus in addition to frequent urge to urinate and thirst:

  • Dry mucous membranes;
  • Increased fatigue;
  • Nausea, constipation;
  • Repeated nighttime urination;
  • Cramps.

Doctor Myasnikov recommended checking the level of antidiuretic hormone in the body if you have the above symptoms and suspected diabetes insipidus.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that the feeling of loss of vitality can occur due to problems with the thyroid gland.
