One of the common causes of increased chilliness of the limbs is iron deficiency in the body, neurologist Aishat Yunusova said.

Neurologist Yunusova commented in an interview on the factors that can explain the constantly freezing hands and feet of a person. The specialist noted that this problem can persist at almost any time of the year, and if the limbs remain cold when warm, and when the temperature drops, they become stiff and do not warm up, this may indicate a serious or dangerous violation. For example, iron deficiency anemia, which, in turn, may be associated with pathologies of other organs.

“One of the common causes of constantly freezing hands and feet is iron deficiency, which results in hypoxia. Iron is a key component of hemoglobin, a special protein that binds oxygen to blood cells,” Yunusova explained to Gazeta.Ru.
Another reason for excessive chilliness and increased sensitivity to cold is endocrine disorders. Often, “frostiness” indicates problems with the thyroid gland. In addition to cold extremities, they can also be indicated by swelling of the face, swollen eyelids, too much dry skin.
