Intestinal dysfunction due to inflammation against the background of unhealthy eating is detrimental to health, warned doctor Sergei Vyalov.
Doctor Vyalov warned Russians that intestinal dysfunction can provoke life-threatening diseases – in particular, liver pathologies, heart attacks and strokes. The doctor stated that the functioning of the intestinal tract is disrupted due to the development of inflammatory processes in it, which, in turn, arise in close connection with an addiction to unhealthy foods – for example, those containing a large amount of cholesterol.
“An abundance of food with cholesterol (for example, an excess of fatty red meat) causes inflammation in the intestines. As a result, its mucous membrane is damaged, the microflora, overfed by the corresponding food, suffers. This leads to bloating and other problems that prevent the intestines from working normally,” Vyalov explained in his Telegram channel.
The doctor emphasized: if the intestines are not working properly and inflammation develops in them, the condition of the liver is at risk.
“The blood flow is designed in such a way that blood from the intestines enters the liver through the portal vein, and some harmful substances enter the organ with it,” the specialist warned.
Vyalov added that life-threatening cardiovascular diseases can also occur due to the entry of inflammatory components from the intestines into the bloodstream, whose work is disrupted by poor nutrition. It is these components that contribute to the formation of atherosclerotic plaques. Such plaques stick to the inner walls of arteries and blood vessels, grow over time into larger deposits that clog the internal space of the vessels and block the blood flow.
“Understanding your diet is the first thing you need to do to prevent such a situation,” the specialist advised.
Vyalov also advised those who often feel bloated and suffer from constipation to see a doctor and check the condition of their intestines and liver. He emphasized that problems with these organs need to be treated with proper therapy.
Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about what a diet should be like to promote liver health.
