Doctor Prodeus: If you have increased hair loss, you should check your thyroid gland

hair loss
Immunologist Andrey Prodeus: the condition of the hair largely depends on the functioning of the thyroid gland.

Doctor Prodeus advised Russians who have noticed increased hair loss to check their thyroid gland. The doctor noted that the deterioration in the condition of the hair can be explained by insufficient activity of the gland, reduced production of its hormones. Such a change in the functioning of the thyroid gland is often caused by hypothyroidism.

“The thyroid gland is our battery, the more and better it works, the more intensively the hair grows; if it works poorly, there is no hair growth, its nutrition is disrupted,” explained Andrey Prodeus.
The easiest way to detect hypothyroidism. A blood test for thyroid hormones helps to detect the problem.
