Doctor Margarita Koroleva advised older people to take walks in the fresh air as often as possible – this has a positive effect on their nervous system.

Doctor Koroleva named simple ways to strengthen the nervous system in old age, she told Moscow 24 about this. The specialist noted that adequate physical activity in the fresh air effectively helps older people improve the condition of the nervous system – walking, hiking, dancing or sports, gardening and work on the site, walking animals, playing with children.

According to Margarita Koroleva, thanks to physical activity in the fresh air, the concentration of the stress hormone cortisol in the body decreases and at the same time the level of dopamine increases, which ensures a good mood.

Another simple way to strengthen the nervous system in old age is to include foods rich in B vitamins and magnesium in your daily diet. To do this, for example, you should eat more vegetables and whole grain cereals.

“You can soak oats, oatmeal, buckwheat – the result will be a fermented product that will provide magnesium and B vitamins and will be most beneficial for the digestive system,” – Margarita Koroleva gave advice.
