General practitioner Maria Belyaeva told what can cause a dangerous oncological disease.

Lung cancer is one of the most deadly oncological diseases. When speaking about people at risk, doctors first of all name workers in hazardous industries and smokers. But can passive smoking affect the development of lung cancer? Doctor Belyaeva answered this question in the affirmative.

“The cause of lung cancer, in addition to active smoking, is passive smoking. Very often, non-smokers receive carcinogenic substances with the air they inhale – formaldehyde, arsenic and phenol, which leads to serious health problems,” the doctor shared with the portal “Moscow Region Today.”
In addition, Belyaeva added, the risk of developing lung cancer increases with active alcohol consumption. There is also reason to believe that susceptibility to this disease occurs with uncontrolled consumption of dietary supplements – retinol, carotenoids, vitamin E.

The main symptoms of lung cancer:

  • cough does not go away after 2 or 3 weeks;
  • prolonged cough gets worse;
  • recurring chest infections;
  • coughing up blood;
  • pain when breathing or coughing;
  • constant shortness of breath;
  • constant fatigue;
  • loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that stomach cancer can occur in people who often eat a variety of pickles.
