Tatyana Romanenko added that after 50 years it is also important to have your liver examined as a preventive measure. To do this, you need to take a blood test for the liver enzymes ALT and AST. At the same time, the doctor emphasized that the above-mentioned tests are relevant for those who do not have obvious health problems. In particular, Romanenko explained, in the case of existing obesity, the doctor may prescribe a glycated hemoglobin test to identify hidden carbohydrate metabolism disorders, and if gastrointestinal pathologies are suspected, a more extensive examination of the liver condition.
