Cardiologist Biryukova called dizziness a reason to seek a heart check

Cardiologist Anna Biryukova warned Russians that heart disease can manifest itself with symptoms that are not associated with this organ.

Cardiologist Biryukova said in an interview with Lenta.ru:

“Many diseases of the heart and blood vessels develop unnoticed and reveal themselves suddenly and abruptly.”
The doctor noted that such invisibility is often due to the fact that the manifestation of some symptoms is not perceived as an indicator of deterioration in heart function. For example, such a symptom may be intolerance to stress, in which almost any physical effort is difficult for a person. Such weakness is often associated with age-related changes or fatigue from routine activities, lack of sleep, while it occurs due to heart problems.

Another reason to see a cardiologist to check your heart condition is dizziness, Biryukova added. In addition, you should not ignore the fact that a person's legs are starting to swell.

One of the dangerous signs is feeling changes in the work of the heart muscle, the doctor emphasized.

“You should be wary if your heart starts to work less rhythmically than usual – especially if it “beats” in your chest from time to time, speeds up or slows down its rhythm in a normal environment without physical exertion,” Anna Biryukova clarified.
The doctor advised to definitely consult a cardiologist in cases when there is a feeling of pain in the chest, which can be described as aching, pressing or “shooting”, and also when blood pressure begins to “jump”.

If the chest pain occurs unexpectedly and is immediately severe, it is better to immediately call an ambulance, the cardiologist stated.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that pallor that occurs after physical exertion is one of the non-obvious signs of a diseased heart – such signs were named by vascular surgeon Tamara Barkinkhoeva.
