If bladder cancer spreads to other parts of the body, such as other organs, it is called metastatic bladder cancer.

The most common symptom of bladder cancer is blood in the urine, which is usually painless. If you notice blood in your urine, even if it comes and goes, you should visit your GP so that the cause can be found out.
“The medical name for blood in the urine is hematuria, and it is usually painless. You may notice streaks of blood in your urine, or blood may turn your urine brown. Blood is not always visible, and it can come and go.”
If bladder cancer is advanced and spreading, symptoms may show up elsewhere.
“If bladder cancer is spreading and advanced, you may experience ; pelvic pain, bone pain, weight loss and leg swelling.”
