You shouldn't store eggs in the refrigerator door – this is the advice given to Russians by biologist Polina Kulach.

Associate Professor Kulach told Gazeta.Ru that storing eggs in the refrigerator door is a common mistake. The biologist noted that this method of storage negatively affects the quality of the product and, in addition, reduces its shelf life. For example, eggs stored this way can be dangerous as a source of salmonella.

“Every time the refrigerator door is opened, the food inside is exposed to a change in temperature. This can promote bacterial growth, which poses a potential health risk,” the expert explained.
Polina Kulach added that the refrigerator door can be opened and closed many times during the day – especially on weekends or when there are many people in the house. In this case, eggs stored in the door are at greater risk of being damaged.

Where is the best place to store eggs?According to the associate professor, it is better to place purchased chicken eggs in the inner compartment of the refrigerator – this extends their shelf life.

How to check the freshness of eggs? Place the chicken egg in a container with water. If it lies on the bottom in a horizontal position, it is fresh; if it stands upright, the expiration date is coming to an end; if it floats, it is spoiled.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that sunflower oil can be healthier than olive oil.
