“Alcohol, starch and fructose”: doctor Solomatina named food components that cause belly fat

belly fat
Nutritionist Elena Solomatina: an unbalanced diet is one of the most common causes of increased fat deposits on the abdomen.

Doctor Solomatina stated: the main “culprits” of a large amount of fat on the abdomen are foods with a high glycemic index – for example, sugar-containing foods.

“Sweet foods stimulate the growth of pathogenic microflora: bacteria develop in the intestines, which begin to control the brain and demand harmful, unhealthy food. Then everything slides into metabolic syndrome, blood pressure rises, sugar levels begin to spike. And they affect appetite,” the doctor explained.
In an interview with Vechernyaya Moskva, Elena Solomatina named the food components that cause belly fat.

  • Alcohol – increases appetite, promotes the development of insulin resistance;
  • Starch (in bread, potatoes, pasta, white rice) – when hot, sharply increases blood glucose levels;
  • Fructose – prevents you from feeling full;
  • Sugar substitutes also disrupt the functioning of the intestinal microbiome, suppressing the growth of beneficial bacteria and provoking increased appetite.

A nutritionist stated: in order to lose weight, it is necessary to increase the amount of non-starchy vegetables rich in fiber in the diet, and eat greens with each meal. Fruits should be eaten to a minimum and the amount of fats consumed, even healthy ones, should be controlled.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote that the habit of drinking coffee with sugar on an empty stomach can lead to excess fat deposition.
