Doctor Vladislav Mirzonov: infections, toxins and autoimmune disorders can worsen the condition of the liver.

Doctor Mirzonov named the main risks for the liver in an interview with Radio 1. He noted that liver diseases arise mainly due to the impact of three factors: infectious, toxic and autoimmune. The doctor added that the number one toxin that damages the organ is alcohol, and the second most toxic is medications. As for autoimmune disorders that affect the liver, they are often associated with the consumption of products to which the body's immune system reacts in a specific way (for example, these are products that are intolerable or contain artificial additives). Fatty liver disease can occur due to poor nutrition, Mirzonov emphasized.

The doctor advised people at risk to check their liver condition. He clarified that this should be done regardless of the appearance of unfavorable symptoms, since their occurrence usually means that the organ is already very significantly affected.

“In the initial stages, the disease may be asymptomatic. Therefore, in case of risks such as alcohol abuse, especially in combination with heavy physical labor, aggressive drug therapy, obesity, metabolic syndrome and nutritional disorders, work associated with aggressive chemical factors, heredity, autoimmune diseases, it is necessary to regularly check the condition of the liver,” said Vladislav Mirzonov.
The doctor also listed the symptoms that require mandatory examination – a yellowish color of the mucous membranes and sclera of the eyes, a feeling of bitterness in the mouth, digestive disorders, the appearance of numerous spider veins on the skin, increased fatigue and drowsiness, pain in the right hypochondrium.

Earlier, the MedikForum.ru portal wrote about the symptoms of fatty liver disease.
