What does the shape of his face say about a person?

What does the shape of his face say about a person
People with square faces seem more aggressive than those with oval faces. This is especially true for young people, researchers at the University of New South Wales in Australia have found.

From Zac Efron to Margot Robbie, many of the world's most beautiful stars are known for their square faces. And now a new study has shown that this face shape makes a person look more aggressive to others than the oval face that Rihanna or Ben Affleck has, for example. Australian researchers evaluated the face length-to-width ratios of 17,607 people from their passport photos before showing them to an independent group of volunteers. They had to rate these faces according to their level of aggressiveness.

The result of the survey showed that a face with pronounced square shapes is evaluated more aggressively than a face with oval proportions, especially if this square face belonged to a young man. But the authors of the study were also interested in why the shape of the face is associated with the perception of the level of aggression.

The fact is that by the faces of the people around us, we read a fairly large amount of socially significant information, especially in relation to persons unfamiliar to us. The shape of the face is associated with some key characteristics. It is possible that the square face of a young man is a signal of his physical strength, and therefore he is perceived more aggressively. And the oval face looks kinder and more attractive at the same time. In addition, sometimes with age, a square face becomes more oval, which is explained by characteristic age-related changes, and such a person no longer seems too aggressive to us.
