The nutritionist shared the rules for storing natural cosmetics

Nutritionist Ekterina Novikova told how to properly store cosmetics so that they retain their qualities longer.

All cosmetics have an expiration date. But, in addition to time limits, certain storage conditions must also be observed.

Natural cosmetics especially need to be respected for storage rules, otherwise they will simply lose their useful properties.

“Pay attention to the “open jar” sign. After opening, natural cosmetics are stored not so long – often it is 3-9 months. In an open form, after the first application, air enters the cosmetics, and pathological processes begin,” the expert explains.
Very often, natural products contain essential oils or plant extracts. It is extremely important to protect them from direct sunlight.

Such products should be stored in a well-closed container, preferably without temperature fluctuations, in a dark place.

Some products are recommended to be stored in the refrigerator. In some cases, this will help extend their shelf life. Most often, you can keep creams in the refrigerator.

It is not recommended to store creams, serums and other facial skin care products in the bathroom. Due to the increased temperature and humidity, they can, on the contrary, deteriorate faster.

You can put cosmetics in the refrigerator if special storage conditions are not specified on the packaging (some products indicate that they should be stored at room temperature).

You can also put any products in the refrigerator in summer, when the temperature reaches its maximum, rising above 30 degrees. ⠀

Please note that many manufacturers specifically calculate the expiration date of a product so that it lasts for the entire period of use.

That is, if the cream says that its expiration date is only 3 months, most likely you will have enough of this product just for this period. Therefore, pay attention to the volume of the package and the usual consumption of similar drugs.

Please note that products with dispensers usually last longer due to limited contact with air. Ekaterina Novikova Ekaterina Novikova Beauty Nutritionist, nutritionist
