Dermatologist-cosmetologist Alexander Bykanov shared professional advice on hair care.

Caring about hair and wanting to grow a braid to the waist, many girls and women completely forget that you also need to pay attention to the scalp. This is the root of many problems.

“The thickness of the epidermis is greater here, the stratum corneum is more keratized, and the bilipid barrier covering the skin itself is weakened. Even more, we can weaken our own defenses by relentlessly washing away the protective sebum with shampoos, disrupting the skin microbiome and leading to barrier dysfunction, ”the expert says.
This is why you need to wash your hair wisely. When choosing a shampoo, be guided by its cleansing properties, it is desirable that it be not too aggressive. Sulfates, contrary to stereotypes, can be in shampoo.

After washing, use conditioner. It will soothe cuticle scales and make hair smooth.

If you dye your hair, do not skimp on dyes. Otherwise, it is better to refuse to change hair color altogether.

Minimize hot hair gadgets – irons, tongs, and so on. Hairdryer – you can, but only in warm mode. Thermal protection is a must!

Try not to do hairstyles that involve a tight tail or bun – due to circulatory disorders, you may experience hair loss. Alexander Bykanov Alexander Bykanov Beauty Dermatologist, cosmetologist
