Daily home facial care: advice from a dermatologist

Dermatologist Maria Zhuravleva named the basic rules for home skin care that will help preserve beauty and youth.

The modern beauty industry offers us a huge number of care products, which can be difficult to figure out. Scrubs, foams, gels, serums, creams, masks – which of these do we really need?

“There are only three main stages of care for all skin types: cleansing, moisturizing, sun protection. Each stage is selected based on the type of your skin and its needs – age, the presence of rashes or skin diseases, the time of year, ”says the expert.
For high-quality cleansing, 1-2 products are enough, for example, micellar water and make-up remover milk. Or a cleansing gel, apply it 1-2 times a day.

We do not wash ourselves to the creak – this is how you erase the natural protective lipid layer.

Tonization can be skipped, this is not an obligatory stage of care. If you want to introduce acids into your care, then you can.

But moisturizing the skin is a must! And this applies to both dry and oily skin. We use cream for the eyelid area regularly – this area needs moisturizing especially.

The division of the cream into evening and day is more of a marketing ploy. You can have one good cream, or use a mattifier in the morning and moisturizer in the evening. In general, you can use one tool.

In the summer, we must protect the skin from UV rays, in winter it is also necessary, depending on the activity of the sun.

All other products (masks, scrubs, peels) are not daily care products, they can be used as needed a couple of times a week. Maria Zhuravleva Maria Zhuravleva Beauty Dermatologist
