Endocrinologist, MD Zukhra Pavlova said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and named three reasons why a person may not have an appetite in the morning.
Breakfast normalizes metabolism and “tames” cortisol, which is actively produced by the adrenal glands in the morning.
– If we don't “feed” them, then cortisol will begin to burn our muscles. In addition, a balanced breakfast allows you to eat less during the day and in the evening, which means it automatically slims,– the doctor wrote in his telegram channel.
Lack of appetite in the morning can be due to several factors.
- Unstable or short sleep. If you have not slept enough, then the body wants to “sleep”, and not eat. Therefore, ensure that you have the right mode.
- You overate at night. A rich and heavy dinner after 8 pm leads to the fact that there will be no appetite in the morning.
- A lot of coffee. If the morning begins not with a glass of water, but with coffee, then there is a high probability that you will not want to have breakfast. Coffee should be drunk an hour after breakfast, Pavlova noted.
Cortisol is a glucocorticoid steroid hormone. It is also called the “stress hormone” because it is actively produced in response to stress. An increase in the level of cortisol leads to disruption of metabolic processes, hormonal disruptions, weakened immunity, indigestion, weakening of potency, insomnia, irritability.
Previously, specialists from the University of Surrey presented an effective method of losing weight, which is called “90 minutes”. According to them, the method is very simple: you need to change the time of breakfast and dinner, moving them forward and backward by 90 minutes, respectively. The results are very good.
