According to dietitian Elena Solomatina, drinking strong tea in hot summer weather is fraught with sad consequences in the form of deterioration of health, the appearance of severe symptoms, and adverse changes in the work of the heart.
People with chronic problems with the nervous system, heart and blood vessels should stop taking strong tea in the heat, says doctor Elena Solomatina. In an interview, the doctor said that such a drink contains a lot of caffeine, which acts as a diuretic, depriving the body of additional moisture. In hot conditions, when the body loses more physiological fluid, this can make the blood too thick.
“Thick blood does not normally reach the brain and heart, and a heart attack or stroke can occur,” Solomatina noted.< br>The medic added that in the heat, drinking strong tea can cause “unfortunate consequences” in people who are highly sensitive to caffeine, as well as those who only occasionally drink coffee or tea. But even those who regularly consume these drinks can have an unexpectedly sharp response to caffeine if the complex effect on the body of a number of factors affects the body – heat, fatigue, lack of sleep, stress or excitement, overload.
“One cup strong tea can cause tachycardia, increased blood pressure, nausea and other unpleasant conditions,” Solomatina warned.
At that time, the specialist added, with good caffeine tolerance, tea helps to concentrate and improves performance.
