
Speaking about the types of cheese that are preferred in old age, nutritionist Solomatina called cottage cheese and brine.
Dietitian Solomatina told in interview why he considers cottage cheese and pickled cheese to be the most useful in the diet of older people. These products, the doctor said, give the body protein and calcium, while they are less fat than “traditional” cheeses.
“They have a low fat content, 15-20%, while conventional cheeses contain fat approximately 45–50%.”
The specialist told Moscow 24 that in old age it is important to control the amount of fat consumed, since its absorption worsens and the level of fatty components in the blood rises – this is closely related to the accumulation of cholesterol and the development of atherosclerosis.< br>

In addition, cottage cheese and pickled cheese contain less salt. Its surplus, Solomatina recalled, contributes to an increase in blood pressure, deterioration of metabolic processes, and also increases the likelihood of developing stomach cancer.
