The doctor explained in an interview how champagne can harm people with vein diseases. Avakyan noted that according to tradition, the New Year is celebrated with this drink. But people with diseased veins need to be more careful. If they intend to drink one or two glasses of champagne at the festive table, the doctor advises them not to take medication that day.
“Patients who have problems with superficial or deep veins in the form of thrombosis often take blood-thinning drugs. If you drink alcohol in parallel, it enhances the effect of drugs, which can lead to bleeding, ”said the phlebologist of Sputnik radio.
Avakyan repeated that when taking blood-thinning drugs, it should be skipped on the day of drinking alcohol.
