If a person who does not suffer from obesity and excess weight resorts to a diet, then he runs the risk of developing diabetes. And at a later age, it can even become a victim of obesity, as scientists from Harvard University have established.
A large-scale study has shown that a sharp weight loss for a person who is not overweight can cause serious damage to health years later. So, slender people who lost weight, on average, by 4.5 kg, after 10 years had a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes, compared with their peers who did not resort to an extreme diet. They were also more likely to gain weight later on.

The authors of the study consider the results to be unexpected. True, they believed that slim people who lost weight might experience an increase in the level of the hunger hormone, which would increase their cravings for unhealthy foods, as well as the risk of being overweight. Many slim people are trying to lose fat in the hope of achieving the coveted abs in order to post their photos on a social network.
